Rules
There is no algorithm here, and nothing to game. Position on the board is the amount paid, and that is the whole system.
How ranking works
- Bids are whole US dollars. New listings start at $5.
- Taking #1 costs $5 more than the current leader. Displacing any other spot costs $1 more than that spot.
- A smaller bid is still welcome — it simply lands wherever that amount reaches on the board.
- Bids do not expire and are never refunded. A listing keeps its amount until its owner raises it or someone pays past it.
- When two listings sit at the same amount, the one that got there first keeps the higher spot.
Raising a listing you already own
- Submit the same link again with a higher number. The new amount must be at least $1 above your current one.
- You are only charged the difference. Nobody else can take your spot by paying that difference — they have to beat your full amount.
What belongs on the board
- A product or company website, or an X profile entered as @handle.
- Query strings are stripped from every link, so referral and tracking URLs will not survive submission.
- Link shorteners are resolved to wherever they actually point, and that destination is what gets listed.
- Platform links — App Store, Play Store, GitHub and similar — are keyed by their path, so two products on one platform stay separate listings.
- Group chat and invite links are not accepted. Neither is adult content.
After you pay
- A completed payment is what claims a spot. Nothing moves before then.
- Your listing is public, and its title and description are read from the page you submitted.
- Clicks go straight to your link, with tracking parameters removed.
Payment and disputes
- Completing a payment confirms you have read the pricing above and authorise the charge for the amount shown.
- If something goes wrong with a purchase, email contact@unseat.lol and we will sort it out. Please get in touch before raising a dispute with your bank — it is faster, and we can usually fix the problem directly.
- Charges appear on your statement as UNSEAT.
- None of this removes any right you have that cannot legally be waived.
